END TIMES READING PLAN: Isaiah 64-66
SCRIPTURE READING
Rev 3:21 To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne.
Rev 5:10 You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth.”
God’s ultimate purpose for His creation is to provide a family for Himself and a Bride for His Son as His eternal companion to reign with Him forever. The guiding principle of the Father’s activity throughout history has been training the Bride to rule the earth with Jesus. This plan of God’s is unfathomable, that God actually desires for us to rule and reign with Him forever. When Christ returns, He will spend 1000 years preparing the earth for the Father’s return, this time frame is referred to as the Millennial Kingdom (Rev 20:1-6), and He wants our help! Then after the earth is prepared, the Father returns and we will continue reigning on the New Earth with Him for all of eternity! This perspective gives us motivation to endure when times are tough; it spurs us on towards obedience and submission to Him because we know that we will get a great reward one day. It is the victorious who will sit with Him on His throne, the overcomer, the one who endures faithfully to the end. When you think about your short time on earth, it will be worth it to be faithful to God when you are promised an eternity spent reigning with Him!
PRAYER and MEDITATION
1. Can you imagine ruling and reigning with Christ forever? What does this say of your value to Him? Are you living your life in such as manner that you are worthy to reign with Him forever?
2. Spend some time in prayer, asking the Holy Spirit to give you a stronger eternal focus, to help you learn to live for what you will receive and do in eternity, not just for the pleasures of this life.
