END TIMES READING PLAN: Jeremiah 30-31
SCRIPTURE READING
Matt 25:1, 3-5, 8 Then the Kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet [encounter] the Bridegroom…3Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, 4but the wise took oil in their vessels…5The Bridegroom was delayed…8and the foolish said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.' (NKJV)
Read Matt 25:1-13. In this passage of Scripture, the Kingdom of God is likened to people who encounter Jesus as a Bridegroom God. Jesus connected being prepared for the end times to intimacy with God. In Matthew 24, Jesus teaches us about the end times; His message is directly followed by three parables that teach about preparing for the end times. The greatest revival and the greatest pressure in history will come in the generation in which Jesus returns. God has chosen to partner with us to bring in the great harvest at the end of the age. As darkness increases, so will the light (Matt 13:30). The parable of the wise and foolish virgins emphasizes our need to stay connected with the Spirit to cultivate intimacy with Jesus, our Bridegroom God. We must not neglect to maintain intimacy with God. Jesus main exhortation for us is to be prepared for the end times. He is calling us to watch for Him and develop a heart connection with the Spirit (Matt 24:36,42-44,50; 13:13).
PRAYER and MEDITATION
1. Spend some time soaking in today’s scripture. Ask the Lord to give you greater understanding of the urgency of developing a heart connection with Him as part of your preparation for the end times.
2. Intimacy with God will be the fuel that will equip us to bring in the greatest harvest of all times in the end times. Ask Jesus to show you any areas of your heart that would prevent you from helping to bring in this harvest. Pray that you will do your part, that you will fulfill your destiny in bringing in this harvest.
