God is wise

Daniel 2:20 Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are His. (NIV)
A.W. Tozer, in his book, The Knowledge of the Holy, defines wisdom. “Wisdom, among other things,
is the ability to devise perfect ends and to achieve those ends by the most perfect means. It sees
the end from the beginning, so there can be no need to guess or estimate. Wisdom sees everything
in focus, each in proper relation to all and therefore He is able to work towards predestined goals
with flawless precision.” All God’s acts are done in perfect wisdom and cannot be improved upon.
Throughout the ages, many people have found it hard to believe the wisdom of a world where so much
appears to be wrong. As Christians we understand the huge calamity of the Fall of Man and how
creation now groans under the shock of sin (Romans 8:22). Yet in God’s wisdom we await the hour of
Christ’s ultimate triumph. When the present age ends and the new age is ushered in and the universe
will see that God has indeed abounded toward us all in wisdom. In the meantime, we rest in the hope
of the all wise God, our Saviour, and wait with patience the development of the rest of His purposes.
God says; what I am is all that need matter to you, for there lay your hope and your peace. I will do
what I do and it will all come to light at last, but how I do it is my secret. Trust Me, and be not afraid!

PRAYER and MEDITATION
1. When bad circumstances come into your life are you quick to blame God and question what He
is doing?
2. What circumstances in your life do you see as “bad” yet God in His infinite wisdom has allowed?
3. Are you willing to trust Him with those circumstances and trust in His perfect wisdom? What
would that look like in your life?
