END TIMES READING PLAN: Matthew 25 & 1 Corinthians 15

SCRIPTURE READING
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever
believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Jesus loves the world and He loves the Church. We have a choice that is before us, we can
respond to His love and spend our lives laying up treasures in Heaven or we can waste our
lives in sin, compromise, passivity and the cares of this life. How do you focus this life on
Jesus? It’s really no secret, you get into His presence, confess sin, cry out to Him in prayer,
lift your soul to Him in worship and meditate on His Word. This takes time, there is no short
track, you must patiently wait in His presence, and there is no substitute. You will have to
forgo some of the less important things in life in order to make more time to cultivate your
relationship with Him.
Hebrews 4:16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may
receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
We have been invited to approach God’s throne of grace with confidence and we need to
go there often to meditate, to gaze, to expose our spirit to the majesty and holiness of our
glorious King. This puts earthly things into perspective, as you bring your needs and cares,
your confessions before Him, you will find grace, and you will find mercy for your failures
and help in your time of need. The Lamb purchased you by His own blood. Would you like
to walk up to the thrown and bow before your King? You can, you are not trespassing on
forbidden ground…you have been invited to come here!

PRAYER and MEDITATION
1. Are you willing to rearrange your schedule to make more time for Jesus? What will this
look like for you? What sort of things are you going to need to pass up in order to focus
    your life on Jesus?
2. What are some of the glorious blessings of focusing your life on Jesus instead of wasting
it in sin, compromise, passivity and the cares of this life? Ask God to show you
    specific benefits.
3. What is keeping you from approaching God’s throne of grace? Is it fear? Shame?
    Timidity? Laziness?
