SCRIPTURE READING
Psalm 36:8 You give them drink from the river of Your pleasures. (NKJV)

”I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2He cuts off every branch in me that
bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even
more fruitful.3You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.4Remain in
me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine.
Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. John 15:1-5 NIV
This is the last bit of teaching that Jesus gave His disciples before His death. Jesus looked
into their eyes and told them the Key to lasting freedom. This is the truth that you need to
remember and focus on: Jesus and you abiding in each other. Jesus is talking about you
and Him having life flowing back and forth between you, revelation and life pouring into
your spirit from His. His words resonating within you, closing your eyes and having Him
speak to your heart. If you do that, if you and Jesus abide in life together, you will have
fruit. He is the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Him bears much fruit. For
without Him, you can do nothing.

PRAYER and MEDITATION
1. In what ways can you abide in Christ? Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you what things
you can do to have this sort of relationship with Him? (Having devotions, spending
time in prayer, listening to worship music, etc)
2. Ask God to show you what things are hindering you from spending time with Him.
Where are you spending the majority of your time and energy that is taking away from
time you could spend with God?
3. Write a prayer asking God to help you remain in Him. Ask Him to pour life into your
spirit, to fill you with His Spirit and lead and guide you. Ask Him to bear much good
    fruit in you.
