Bible Poetry Reading Plan: Job 11-12
Our Heavenly Bodies

Psalm 16:11You have made known to me the path of life; You will fill me with joy in your presence,
with eternal pleasures at your right hand. (NIV)

In eternity, all your defects will be healed – if you are crippled, you aren’t going to be crippled in
Heaven. If you are blind or deaf you will have all 5 of your senses working again in Heaven. If you
have diabetes or cancer or back pain, your body won’t have the capacity to even experience those
things anymore. If your body is out of proportion due to a childhood sickness or some other disease,
those effects will be gone! Your mind will always be sharp and your senses will all work perfectly.
Everything in your experience here on earth is affected by the curse of sin and death, and we don’t
realize how big an effect those things have. You currently get tired, you get grouchy and sometimes
you can’t concentrate. Your body often doesn’t do what you want it to, and that’s at the best of
times. But your new body will not be affected by these things anymore. You will be full of life at all
times! Imagine a body that just hums with life; a body full of energy, yet able to focus; a body full
of joy; a body that is mobile and strong. Imagine a body where every sense and moment fills you
with pleasure – pleasures you could never have imagined experiencing here on earth: no moments
will ever dull or dreary, every moment will be filled with pleasure. You will RADIATE God’s glory.
Have you ever met a person or seen a person who completely lights up a room? If you could see a
resurrected person right now you would be in awe! The most beautiful person you’ve ever seen, the
most magnetic person here on earth could not compare to a resurrected person – a person who is
perfectly radiating God’s glory and vitality.

PRAYER and MEDITATION
1. What pains and problems are you looking forward to being healed of when you are transformed
and receive your resurrected body?
2. Do you find yourself complaining about these pains and problems? If so, how would a Heavenly
perspective change your attitude about these things?
3. Thank the Lord that we don’t have to live with our defects, pain, illness and alike! We all can
look forward to the day when pain will be no more! Hallelujah!
