BIBLE IN A YEAR: Isaiah 45-47 and 1 Thess. 3-4

THE LONGING FOR BEAUTY

SCRIPTURE READING
Hebrews 10:16 (NKJV) This is the covenant that I will make them…I will put my laws into their hearts and in their minds I will write them…

In the Book of Esther, Esther goes through beauty preparations in order to be made ready for the king.  This is a prophetic picture of the Bride of Christ preparing for her King.  We go through necessary preparations in this age so that we will be counted worthy of the Son when He returns to set up His Kingdom on Earth.

Even more remarkable than God dwelling in the hearts of men and women, expressing His divine beauty through them, is God going further and depositing His life into them as well.  In the process of beautifying His Bride, Jesus writes the laws of His Father on her mind and heart.  The concept that He writes on our minds and hearts speaks of His supernatural enlargement of our capacity for understanding and love.  He will make our minds beautiful, and our hearts.

PRAYER  MEDITATION
1.    What spiritual preparations is God calling you to make in order to be counted worthy of the Son when He returns?  What spiritual disciplines does He want to grow in your life?  Prayer? Fasting? Spending time in the Word? Submission? Confession? Worship? Service? Other?

2.    Ask the Holy Spirit to increase your capacity for understanding and love.  Ask Him to beautify your heart and your mind.  Pray that you will persevere and endure all the days of your life.

3.    Spend some time thanking God for His goodness and mercy towards you. Thank Him for His grace, that He shows you over and over, each day.  Commit to following through on the preparations that He is calling you to make.
