History Books in 90 Days: 2 Samuel 19-21
NEW EARTH

Revelation 21:5 He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he
said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” (NIV)

This present world that we live in has been polluted by Satan and sin. In fact, many of us can’t even
fathom a world without sin since it has such a strong grip on our world. Because of this a new earth
is essential because the one we live on has been marred and broken by man`s corruption, violence
and sin. Our finite minds fail to grasp the thought of an eternity with no sin. Everything in this new
creation will be perfect as measured by the holiness of God and His church will be “without spot,
or wrinkle” or any such thing. The perpetual sunlight and joy of the eternal presence of God will be
ours: “Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and
God himself will be with them and be their God. 4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will
be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” (Rev.
21:3-4).
Everything in connection with this new creation will be brought into order before God and fashioned
according to His perfect mind. What a peaceful and magnificent place to be! Can you imagine – no
more death, no more mourning, no more crying and no more pain! This is the blessed HOPE that
we have to look forward to! It is this HOPE that helps us persevere under trail and in the midst of
temptation; it is this HOPE that motivates us to submit fully to God and His plan for our lives. This
life is only temporary; we have HOPE of a great and marvelous new life where we will dwell with
God and man for all eternity!

PRAYER and MEDITATION
1. How does the thought of an eternity without death, mourning, crying or pain bring HOPE to
your circumstances? What pains are you looking forward to leaving when you enter eternity
with Christ?
2. Entering into this new earth only comes through accepting Jesus as Lord of your life. Have
you done that? If so, pray that many more will come to know Him. If not, why don’t you submit
your life to Him today and choose to live for Him?
3. Spend some time meditating on the HOPE that we have in Jesus! Praise Him for this HOPE,
worship Him for it!
