The Law in 90 Days: Genesis 5-6
SCRIPTURE READING
Proverbs 3:19-20 (ESV); The Lord by wisdom founded the earth; by understanding he
established the heavens; by his knowledge the deeps broke open, and the clouds drop down the
dew.
This is the wisdom that we are drawing from. This is the wisdom that Solomon said triumphed
over wealth and power. It is the wisdom of God Himself. All wealth belongs to Him. All dominion
and authority, all creative power, all knowledge and intellect is His. With His infinite supply of
these, He made the universe. In a world where science is used to explain all things, there is little
room for God. However God is the source of the sciences; the explanations and intelligence, the
discoveries and formulas of science are rooted in Him!
This creative wisdom is that which is entrusted to those who seek the Lord and strive to walk
uprightly. Now the veil is lifted, and we can see clearly why one would choose the invisible box
of wisdom over the mountain of gold and silver! Material stuff that breaks and rusts and gets
misplaced is miniscule compared to the wisdom by which heaven and earth were formed! There
is so much that we know absolutely nothing about, yet God knows all. There’s so much that
worries us, while God knows every action in the entire universe. There is nothing that fazes our
wise God, and He is on our side! And this is the God whom with we will spend our eternity with,
forever gleaning from His supply of great wisdom!

PRAYER and MEDITATION
1. Meditate on the power of God. How has God revealed His power in Scripture and in your
life?
2. Meditate on God’s creativity. How can you see it in the world around you?
3. Meditate on God’s compassion, mercy and abounding love for His people? How is this
evident all throughout scripture and your own life?
4. Now bundle theses together as you consider God’s wisdom. How does meditating on God’s
other qualities amplify His wisdom? Is there anything that you are ready to surrender or
recommit to Christ having dwelt on these things?
5. Worship God for His character with praise and thanksgiving!
