Prophet’s
Reading Plan: Hosea
6-10
A Chosen People: The
Lord has Chosen Zion
Read Psalm 132
God chose Abraham, and though him, chose the nation of
Israel. From the nation, He chose David and his line as an everlasting monarchy
and the city of Jerusalem as His dwelling place.
This song would have been sung when the people were
living in exile, declaring in faith that God would remember His covenant to
David and raise up a new king.
This psalm reminds us that God has great purposes that He
wishes to accomplish through His people, and all of these purposes result in
His glorification.

PRAYER &
MEDITATION
1) Thank God that, because of His great
plan, we have been welcomed as His people, allowed to share in the covenant He
made with Israel. Thank Him for fulfilling His promise to David. Thank Him for
the future we have with Him and all His people in Zion.
2) What has God chosen you for? Is there
something He has asked you to do (no matter how big or small)? How have you
responded to this calling? Have you forgotten? Have you given up? Have you
stepped up? Think and pray about this.
3)
You were made to glorify God. How can
you bring glory to His name today?
